Installation#

Stable release#

To install Chess Tuning Tools, first create a new Python environment with python>=3.7, then run this command in your terminal:

$ pip install chess-tuning-tools

This is the preferred method to install Chess Tuning Tools, as it will always install the most recent stable release.

If you don’t have pip installed, this Python installation guide can guide you through the process.

Installation on Windows#

To get chess-tuning-tools to work on Windows, the easiest way is to install the Miniconda distribution. Then, create a new environment and install chess-tuning-tools:

conda create -n myenv python=3.9 scikit-learn=0.23
activate myenv
pip install chess-tuning-tools

Beta release#

To give testers early access to new functionality, we will usually release beta versions to PyPI. To install a beta version, run this command in your terminal (version is an example):

$ pip install chess-tuning-tools==0.6.0b2

From sources#

The sources for Chess Tuning Tools can be downloaded from the Github repo.

You can either clone the public repository:

$ git clone git://github.com/kiudee/chess-tuning-tools

Or download the tarball:

$ curl -OJL https://github.com/kiudee/chess-tuning-tools/tarball/master

Once you have a copy of the source, you can install it using poetry:

$ poetry install
